The driver ask for a ground guide, the brass wanted to hang the driver, but the section chief told the brass they could hang him, the brass forgot the whole Thing and the sergeant won the undying respect of his crew.

On guard duty with Sp/4 James Tapp a wounded Vietnam Vet, only one of a few who were not messed up in the head. I served in Germany during the early 70's the height of the Vietnam war and I knew a lot of Vet's, most 11B "infantry" vets had problems they experienced a lot of horrors, 85% or more did not want to be there and along with the horrors of the war they were treated badly by the American people when they got home.




I was 21 years old as SOG Working the switch board.
